Waggin’ Cent$ Pet Program

There’s a saying. If you want someone to love you forever, buy a dog, feed it and keep it around. ~ Dick Dale

Studies show there are currently more than 223 million dogs and 220 million cats worldwide. Ask almost any pet owner and they will tell you their pet is one of their family members. Pets are a part of our everyday life, they provide emotional support, reduce stress, combat loneliness, and are even beneficial to our overall health.

One of our main responsibilities we have as pet owners is caring for them in terms of their health, and oftentimes, it’s expensive. Unexpected veterinary bills can add up fast when you include all of the diagnostic testing and treatment they need, not to mention all the grooming appointments, treats, and toys. According to a recent report, the total first-year cost of owning a dog is $1,270 and for a cat, it’s $1,070, not including unexpected things that may arise along the way. Thankfully, TNconnect Credit Union realizes how important your pet is, that’s why we created Waggin’ Cent$, a pet program designed especially for our members with 4-legged family members. In a nutshell, the program consists of a savings account to help save for pet expenses. Waggin’ Cents also offers reduced-rate loans for unexpected expenses, such as major vet bills.  It also offers Pet Insurance through Healthy Paws.

How it works

This account (on the member’s savings account) provides a specific place to set aside money for expenses, such as annual vet fees or pet medicines giving you peace of mind when something arises. Funds can be allocated to this account via payroll deduction, making budgeting easier on the member!

Loans

It is estimated that 1 in 3 pets will require unexpected veterinary expenses each year – TNConnect wants to help with these unplanned, and often expensive bills. Our reduced-rate pet loans offer 24 months to repay – we believe this is a better alternative than financing offered through your vet’s office. This is just one of the many features which set TNConnect apart from other banking establishments.

Pet of the month

We love to showcase your pets each month and are proud to select a member’s pet each month to spotlight. Simply submit your pet photo and their bio here for a chance to be featured.

Your pet is a part of your family, give them the care they deserve without the worry and burden of exorbitant expenses when something unexpected comes up.
